பிரபல சினிமா விமர்சகராக அறியப்படுபவர் கௌஷிக் இவர் தனியார் ஊடகங்களில் பணிபுரிந்து வந்துள்ளார். அதோடு ட்விட்டர் போன்ற சமூகவலைதள பக்கங்களில் சினிமா தொடர்பான அப்டேட்டுகளை வெளியிட்டு பிரபலமானவர் கௌஷிக். பொறியியல் பட்டதாரியான இவர் சினிமா மீதான ஆர்வம் காரணமாக சினிமாவில் தொடர்பான முதுகலை பட்டப்படிப்பை படிப்பு முடித்து பிரபல தனியார் ஊடகத்தில் பணிபுரிந்து வந்தார்.
இந் நிலையில் நேற்று நடைபெற்ற பத்திரிக்கையாளர் சந்திப்பில் கலந்து கொள்ள கௌஷிக் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளார் இதையடுத்து இது தொடர்பாக அவரது நண்பர்கள் தொடர்ந்து இவருக்கு போன் செய்துள்ளனர். ஆனால் எந்த ரெஸ்பான்ஸும் செய்யாததால் கௌஷிக்கின் அறைக்கு வந்து பார்த்துள்ளனர். அப்போது படுக்கையில் அவர் உணர்வற்று கிடந்துள்ளார். பின்னர் மருத்துவ பரிசோதனையில் இவர் நேற்று மதியம் மாரடைப்பால் உறக்கத்திலேயே உயிரிழந்தது தெரிய வந்துள்ளது.

கௌஷிக்கின் மரணம் ஊடகத்துறையில் மட்டுமல்லாமல், சினிமா துறையிலும் அதிர்ச்சி ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இவரது மரணம் குறித்து தனுஷ், ராகவா லாரன்ஸ், சல்மான் கான், கீர்த்தி சுரேஷ், அதிதி ராவ் கைதாரி, வெங்கட் பிரபு உள்ளிட்ட திரைபிரபலங்கள் இரங்கல் தெரிவித்து வருகின்றனர். அதோடு இவர் மரணிக்கும் சிறிது நேரத்திற்கு முன்பாக துல்கர் சல்மான் நடித்த சீதாராமன் உலக அளவில் 50 கோடி வசூலை பெற்றுள்ளதாக பதிவிட்டுள்ளார் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
